Visa Petitions for Residents of Togo
Who Can File - only a U.S. citizen, who is resident in Togo for at least six months, can file a petition in person, provided he/she has all the originals of the following required documents and pays applicable fees in cash:
You will need originals and photocopies of the following:
- Passport or travel document
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate
- Evidence of the termination of all previous marriages of both petitioner and beneficiary, i.e., divorce, death, annulment certificates
- Police certificate
- Court and prison records
- Military records
- All documents not in English must be accompanied by a complete English translation. The translator must certify that the translation is accurate and that he or she is competent to translate.
- Medical examination by a panel physician recommended by the U.S.Embassy
• Evidence of support - Notarized I-864 (http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/files/I-864.pdf) and photocopies of 3 most recent years of tax returns from the petitioner). If petitioner does not have sufficient funds to meet U.S. poverty guidelines, an I-864 from a co-sponsor (http://uscis.gov/graphics/formsfee/forms/i-864pkg.htm) is required. - 2 passport sized photographs (2" x 2") with a plain, white background, taken within the last six months. Face should be 1" high and pose should be three quarter frontal portrait with right ear and right side of face visible.
- Immigrant Visa processing fee of $335 per person, plus a $45 security surcharge.
Note: Submission of these documents does NOT guarantee that you will be issued a visa. Submission of fraudulent documents or failing to answer all interview questions truthfully can result in permanent ineligibility for a visa.
Important Additional Information
U.S. citizens residing in the U.S. should file their petition with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) of the Department of Homeland Security.
