Language and Computer Training Center

Lome, Thursday September 22, 2005

On Thursday September 22 2205, Chargé d’Affaires J.A. Diffily of the U.S. Embassy in Togo cut the ribbon to mark the official opening of the Language and Computer Training Center for staff and eligible family members.  Present at the ceremony were Foreign Service Nationals and American officials who were given an introductory tour of the new facility.  The System staff explained the new features that the Center will provide to heighten language proficiency and sharpen computer skills of the staff and members of the U.S. Mission.

In his remarks, the Chargé encouraged the members of Embassy Lome to make good use of the Center so as to make it worth the work done by IRM and GSO personnel.  The Center will offer self-guided training software modules that include English and French language training as well as the State Department on-line training modules and Microsoft Office software.
